Police-state fears grow in Delaware Law would strip sheriffs of all arrest authority

Have you heard about the sheriff's Department in Sussex County? The story is unbelievable,  Jeff Christopher's efforts have created a backlash, with officials now in his own county supporting the state plan that would strip sheriffs of their authority to arrest. Chip Guy, a spokesman for Sussex County, says the county supports the legislation. While the bill is currently stalled in the legislature, Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden, son of Vice President Joe Biden, issued a statement that sheriffs no longer have arrest powers.

This is totally unconstitutional, if this goes through, Delaware will become a police state. This could become a snowball rolling down hill, the more momentum the bigger it will get. First Delaware then your county sheriff, then the state police is taken over by the military. This must stop, We The People must rise up and tell the Government, who works for us, that we do not won't and will not have a police state in this great country of ours.

Yes Mr.Cook,It now appears,the ball is in the "citizens court" If the citizens of this Delaware county feel they should let this Sheriff "swing in the breeze all by himself" then they will do nothing.If however they will support this Sheriff who they have elected,not with violence,but with steadfast resoluteness,then maybe they can beat back this attack.Just my opinion of course but if they fail Sheriff Christopher,then they will have failed themselves.

Mr. Davis, If they do fail Sheriff Christopher,then they will have failed themselves. But by failing themselves they are failing their fellow man who wants to protect them and the Constitution. There might be a deeper story why they don't trust in him but if they are against him, why did they put him in office in the first place?

I'll be interested in the interview with Sheriff Mack. By the way Mr. Davis just call me Kenneth.

Hello Kenneth,Just FYI and after receiving notification of Sheriff Macks upcoming radio interview,I decided to see if I could find who is Sheriff Christopher ?,apparently this Sheriff is an "open book" and "Sheriffs bio" can be viewed on this link ,on the left hand side  http://www.sussexcountyde.gov/dept/sheriff/ . regards

Thanks William, after reading his bio he seems to be very well qualified. It seems to me that Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden is out of bounds on this. The people of Delaware really need to stop and think about what is going on there. If you take the freedom from one you take it from all.
